Hens and biddy quilt

I really liked Connie's chickens and so had to have some of my own. It uses scraps and with a log cabin ruler the cutting is a snap.
I also finished a baby girl quilt for my neighbors across the street. At least it will get there before she is in high school!!
I used some fabric strips I had had from a previous quilt for my college roommate's granddaughter.
We had bee today and I put TBB together for two charity quilts. Now to get them quilted!!

Finally finished the top. Now for the quilting!!! It was fun using the shirts but sometimes hard to keep the fabric straight. If I do another one it will be with strips and 9 patches. For the corner blocks I made a 25 patch block and cut it in quarters because I needed a 5 inch square block. I did not think....surprise about it when I made the piano key border 5inches before sewing it. Hard to make a block come out to 4.5inches.
Anyway it is different.
I also spent the better part of the last three days cleaning and getting straight my fabrics and projects which had spread out of my sewing/computer room into the spare bedroom and dining room like some blob.
This required the putting together...ugh... of a cabinet and cubby storage unit I had bought last summer. I was afraid to open it and find out I could not put it together. It really was not difficult once I could tell the sides from the top and bottom!!! Here are some pictures of the after....no way would I show the before pictures. Only those who have seen it up close and personal could appreciate the difference. Sadly I still have fabric in the top of the closet in the sewing room and large backing pieces in the linen closet. But that is ok. You don't need more than two sets of sheets per bed now do you? And who needs different colored towels. As long as they get you dry....Now to rest.
