Jewel tones??/

I am just trying to get the colors right but it is so subjective.  Oh well these are some of my candidates.  Hopefully when M gets back from the show I will have a better green.
Now I have been quilting a lot but not a lot to show for it.  I did finish the community quilt from some orphaned 9 patch blocks from the first BOM at the guild.  I had to add three blocks to make it large enough.  I like it though.  It is a great opportunity to practice my quilting.

Now for the bulls eye.  Can't show that yet.  Have to wait until March guild.

The Easy Street mystery quilt of Bonnie Hunter is at the quilters in Hampstead.  Cannot wait to get it back.  But the thoughts of binding the 412 inches around is daunting.  Oh well.

We did work hard at bee last week to make the ornaments for favors for our Day of Sharing in April.  Thanks SB for all the help and SC for taking pictures.

Cold rainy quilting.

Machine poor

In searching for a machine to have painted I now have three new/old machines.  The first one I got on ebay.  It was like charlie brown's christmas tree.  I was the only bid and it looked pitiful.  Now it is in my safe warm home.  I think it will clean up nicely. Don't you??  Her name is "Grannie"

The next machine was the one I had planned to have painted as it was in pretty bad shape cosmetically but after talking with my fabric shop person and Mr. Gurley the guru on Singer machines, I have decided not to touch it.  After cleaning and tuning up it works great. Her name is Gracie.

Finally there is Lady.  She is in better shape than my black 221 so I have decided to send my 221 off to be painted.
Well now I don't have any excuse for not sewing. Yes?

I took my "Easy STreet" quilt to the quilters and cannot wait to see it finished.  The backing is a piece from Mary Jo's that I got on our field trip last July.  It is perfect.
Time to watch tv.
Warm sewing.

I heart quilting

My february calendar hanging is a little dark but still trying to find the flash setting on my phone camera.

I had gotten some heart buttons at Hobby Lobby in December just because I like hearts so I used two blue ones for the eyes of the blue birds.  I like doing these but not the letters.

I have finished the top center of Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt.  Well I guess it is my mystery quilt now.  I am trying to decide on the borders.  I have put on a 2 inch purple border and think I want a piano keys border of strips 3.5 inches and then binding of purple.
I guess I will have to make a practice strip to see if I like it. I finished it around 5:30 but have done nothing since but watch tv!!!
At least Eddie and Teddie seem to like it.

The church is having a blood drive tomorrow afternoon so I will go there then to Ex Bd meeting of the guild.  The meeting was good last thursday.  A good crowd and a lot going on.
Diocesean Conference in New Bern this weekend.  Have to sew a lot before Thursday.
Chilly quilting.
